El Mirage is a small community,  in nameplate in the west central  area of the greater Phoenix area. US 60, better know as Grand Avenue, runs through the town.  All the way to Las Vegas for that matter. The City of El Mirage was incorporated in 1951. But doesn’t make it OLD! El Mirage is located near Luke Air Force Base, and borders the City of Surprise and the retirement community of Youngtown. While it gets  somewhat absorbed in description by many surrounding areas, it still has its own community idenity.

Older and newer homes make up this area. So if price point is important in the west valley, El Mirage may be the place to look.

El Mirage has an eclectic blend of old and new with some homes selling in the $120,000 range, and others built in 2004 and after are listed over $400,000. Acre size lots in Dysart Ranchettes allow home owners, in some cases, to have horses. Other newer subdivisions, such as Rancho El Mirage and Thompson Ranch have smaller, easy to maintain lots, which makes it easier in homeowners  because they don’t have to spend their free time on landscape work. In El Mirage, you have time to sit down, and kick back. Or do what you want to do. NOT what you have to do outside.

Residential housing is primarily single family homes. At this time, there are no town homes or condos. There are a few mobile or manufactured homes in the communities of the Palms of El Mirage and Pueblo El Mirage. Don’t  simply overlook El Mirage.
